A large fire has broken out at the former Chiswick home of ITV star Anthony McPartlin.

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to the blaze which started at the property on Grove Park Gardens at 9.46am on Monday.

A 32m ladder was deployed at the scene of the incident, the London Fire Brigade said. The fire is now under control but crews remain at the scene.

Photos posted to social media show large plumes of black smoke billowing from the property.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

The property belongs to the TV presenter’s ex-wife Lisa Armstrong, who rents it out, according to the Mirror. McPartlin, 47, has not lived there since they split in 2018.

A photographer from the newspaper said the house was being rented by a family of six and that a nanny had spotted smoke coming from the first floor bedroom.

The nanny and a cleaner are said to have been the only people present in the house when the fire started.

The Standard has contacted representatives of McPartlin for comment.
