Huge fire engulfs Scots home as firefighters battle flames

Firefighters are currently battling a huge blaze at a house in Fife.

Crews from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) are currently at the scene on the A914 near Cupar. Dramatic images from the scene show the property engulfed in thick pockets of smoke.

The fire appears to have gripped the upper floor of the building with smoke spreading across the roof.

It is currently unknown if there are any injuries.

The SFRS confirmed they are currently in attendance at the incident with five appliances currently at the scene.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 1.10pm on Friday, 10 May to reports of a dwelling fire in Cupar.

"Operations Control mobilised five appliances to the town's South Road, where firefighters were met by a well-developed fire.

"Crews currently remain on scene working to extinguish the fire.

"There are no reported casualties."

Police are also at the scene to manage traffic.
