Though it's only been a few weeks since the Easter break, we're now gearing up for the first of two May bank holidays. The first takes place this Monday, May 6 and there's a host of events and activities taking place across Greater Manchester.

Some will want to use the extra day off work to get in an extra lie-in, but others will want to make the most of the free time, hitting up theatre shows, music festivals and even food festivals. One of those events taking place this weekend is GRUB's Taco Fest in Cheetham Hill.

The Manchester street food market at the Red Bank Project near Cheetham Hill will be hosting the festival on Sunday, 5 May and Monday, 6 May with some of their favourite street food traders serve up a range of taco dishes.

Those making the most of the three-day weekend are invited to head down to GRUB for some full on Mexicana vibes. The event, which is sponsored by Olmeca Tequila, will feature cocktails, coffee, desserts, tunes, craft beer and a lot of tacos.

In terms of what's on offer food wise, there’ll be plant-based Mexican inspired tacos and burritos courtesy of Nina's Tacos, fusion dishes from veggie pros Wholesome Junkies including their katsu phish and chips. They'll be joined by Noble's Kitchen serving up some Cinco de Mayo specials with pulled pork and beef brisket tacos.
