Hugh Grant and a scented candle terrorize two young missionaries in the trailer for A24's “Heretic”

These sisters are Hugh'ing it for themselves.

Few studios can boast a track record like A24, and with a veteran scene-stealer like Hugh Grant at the wheel, what could go wrong?

Just don't ask rising stars Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East, who get terrorized by Grant in the trailer for this fall's Heretic.

According to the film's logline, two young missionaries (Thatcher and East) are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed (Grant), becoming ensnared in his deadly game of cat-and-mouse.

By the looks of the trailer, the real villain of the movie is a deceptive blueberry pie candle that lulls the two women into a false sense of security.

Both A24 and Grant are on something of a roll, with the studio's Civil War scoring A24's biggest box office opening in history, while Grant danced his way to a global blockbuster as an Oompa Loompa in last year's Wonka before donning a Tony the Tiger suit for Jerry Seinfeld's Unfrosted movie.

Written and directed by the filmmaking duo of Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (65), Heretic comes to pray/prey in theaters Nov. 15. Check out the trailer below.
