Yahoo News Hugh Jackman wishes Ian McKellen happy birthday on stage at concert
Legendary actor Sir Ian McKellen is 80 years old as of yesterday (May 25), and someone of his stature deserves a big fuss to be made about him.
And that's exactly what Hugh Jackman did on stage during a recent date on his The Man, The Music, The Show tour.
The X-Men actor uploaded a video to his Instagram wishing his former mutant arch-enemy a lovely day, before launching into an arena-wide rendition of 'Happy Birthday to You'.

"I'm sorry I can't make your party, Ian, but I think I might annoy about 50,000 people," he said, before cueing in the crowd to join him in singing.
"Happy 80th Sir @ianmckellen .. and many more!" Hugh captioned the clip
As for his own birthday celebration, Sir Ian himself marked the occasion by sharing a picture of one of the birthday cards he received – which happened to feature Gandalf the Grey, Magneto and Richard III's faces stuck onto the poster for Magic Mike.

Last year, Sir Ian celebrated 30 years of publicly coming out as gay. "I've never met a gay person who regretted coming out – including myself," he wrote. "Life at last begins to make sense, when you are open and honest."
The actor also opened up recently about getting in touch with his "inner-pussy". No, get your mind out of the gutter – he was talking about preparing for his role in Cats, where he'll be playing Gus the Theatre Cat when the screen adaptation is released in cinemas on December 20, 2019.
