Yahoo News Hull area's third branch of burger chain Wendy's announces opening date
A new branch of the American burger chain Wendy's is set to open next week.
Work is being carried out to the interior and exterior of the unit, in Jameson Street, with signage now erected. Planning permission was originally granted in February by Hull City Council for the restaurant to join the chain's rapidly-growing presence in the city.
Plans for the Jameson Street site said a Wendy's would ensure the future of the King Albert Chambers unit and add vitality to the area. The street is already home to a number of big-name fast food restaurants including McDonald's and KFC.

The Hull area already has two of the chains, with this third one meaning that no other place in the UK will have more branches than Hull.
Baily Thornton, a senior staff member at the Kingswood branch previously told The Sun customers have given "great feedback" and also claimed that having a Wendy's had put Hull on the map.
"It’s because we’re new and people want to come and try us," she said. "Wendy’s is a renowned premium brand and it’s good for Hull. We’ve had people come from all over. I’ve met people from Whitby and Newcastle who have driven over especially."
The company announced plans to expand across the UK in 2022, moving into the Midlands and north of England following an initial foray into London and the south. Hull has since joined Manchester, Birmingham and Sheffield in getting Wendy's restaurants after the chain returned to the British market in 2021.
As well as fast food favourites such as burgers and chicken nuggets, the Wendy's menu also offers Caesar chicken salad, avocado chicken salad, chilli con carne, baked potatoes, and loaded fries.
The newest branch of Wendys will open in Hull City Centre at 61-63 Jameson Street. Doors will open officially on July 11, 2024, at 10:30 am. Opening hours of the Hull City Centre restaurant are:

Friday-Saturday 7:00 am-11:00 pm
