Hull City are the latest club to be linked with a move for Elfsborg midfielder Michael Baidoo with the Tigers among a flurry of clubs said to be tracking the Ghanaian.

Baidoo has registered three goals and two assists in his eight outings in the Allsvenskan for Elfsborg this season, who sit eighth in the table after nine games of the campaign.

City will need to bolster their midfield ranks this summer having seen Tyler Morton return to Liverpool and uncertainty surrounding the future of Adama Traore and Greg Docherty given the pair are out of contract, and are one of a host of clubs linked with the 25-year-old, along with Championship rivals Middlesbrough and Luton Town, while Premier League newboys Leicester City are talked about, plus the likes of Ferencvaros, NEC Nijmegen and Maccabi Haifa. Ghana boss Chris Hughton is thought to be considering drafting him into the national squad later this year.

According to Swedish outlet FotbollDirekt, City have been keeping tabs on the former Ghana youth international who has scored 17 times and notched 11 assists in the 65 games he's played for Elfsborg since arriving from Sandnes Ulf in 2022, catching the eye with his energetic displays.

The attack-minded midfielder is under contract until December 2025, and, according to the report, is valued between 2 and 4 million euros (between £1.75m and £3.4m).

City's recruitment process is on hold just at the moment, with the club yet to appoint a new manager following the departure of Liam Rosenior last Tuesday. Owner Acun Ilicali remains locked in talks with German boss Tim Walter over replacing Rosenior, but is not expecting anything to be complete until next week at the earliest..
