Hull City pondering Oscar Estupinan transfer decision amid new manager arrival

Hull City could recall striker Oscar Estupinan from his loan spell in Brazil with EC Bahia ahead of the new Championship season which gets underway in August.

The Colombian striker spent the first half of last season on loan in France with FC Metz before seeing that agreement cut short in January and then moving back to South America.

City do have the option, Hull Live understands, to recall the 27-year-old striker to the MKM Stadium, should the incoming Tigers manager decide to take a look at him during pre-season.

Bahia's existing loan agreement runs until December at which point they could make his move permanent for a fee thought to be in the region of £1.5m, but with City on the lookout for attacking options this summer, recalling Estupinan could be an option, sources have indicated, but one that will ultimately be decided by the incoming head coach, which is expected to be Tim Walter.

Previous head coach Liam Rosenior sanctioned Estupinan's initial departure for France last summer with the frontman linking up with Benjamin Tetteh and admitted to having conversations in January about bringing him back following the injury picked up by Liam Delap, before opting to strike a deal with the Brazilian outfit.

In his 10 outings for Bahia, Estupinan has bagged five goals adding to the one he netted for City in just the second game of the season in the League Cup defeat to Doncaster Rovers. During his first season at the MKM Stadium having arrived on a free transfer from Vitoria, Estupinan netted 13 times in 35 Championship appearances and also made his debut for the Colombian national team.
