Hull City in transfer talks to sign international midfielder from Championship rivals

Hull City are in talks with Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion over midfielder Okay Yokuslu. The 30-year-old Turkish international midfielder is currently enjoying a break after his exploits with the national team at Euro 2024 in Germany, which saw the country narrowly beaten by the Netherlands in the quarter-final at the weekend, avoiding a semi-final contest with England in Dortmund.

Yokuşlu has been a regular for West Bromwich Albion since his move from Celta Vigo initially on loan in February 2021 before that move was later made permanent, but seemingly appears on his way out of the Hawthorns.

Out of contract next summer, the experienced midfielder is attracting no shortage of interest and had been linked with moves back to the Super Lig, with Besikas pushing hard, but City are in talks over a permanent deal.

A regular for the Baggies in his two full seasons, the 43-cap international star has played 88 times, 82 of which have come in the Championship including 44 last term as Carlos Corberan’s side beat City to a place in the play-offs.

The Baggies finished fifth in the standings but missed out on promotion, losing to eventual play-off winners Southampton.
