Hull City's players are back at Cottingham this morning as they get to grips with new boss Tim Walter for the first time after his appointment at the end of May.

In the weeks since he arrived at the MKM Stadium, Walter and his new-look backroom team have been putting his plans in place for the next seven weeks before City kick off their Championship campaign when they face Bristol City at home.

The squad heading back to the Tigers' training ground this morning will be a very different one to the group who left to depart for Home Park and the final game of the season at Plymouth Argyle.

Gone are the likes of League One title-winner Greg Docherty along with Cyrus Christie and Adama Traore, short-term signing Billy Sharp, loan stars Liam Delap, Fabio Carvalho and Tyler Morton, goalkeeper Ryan Allsop and Ozan Tufan.

Suffice it to say, it's been another big summer of change at City, and perhaps, the biggest for a number of years given the change in manager and sheer turnover of players following Liam Rosenior out of the exit door.

Along with seasoned City veterans like Alfie Jones, Lewie Coyle, Regan Slater and Jean Michael Seri, last season's out-of-favour performers will also be back, like Ryan Longman and Jason Lokilo, but it does show how weak the squad is at the start of pre-season.
