Hull FC were improved in performance but the result still evaded them against Leeds Rhinos on Sunday afternoon. Here are the ratings.

Jack Walker - Set up Hull's two tries; first with a superb break and then the second with a neat cut out pass. Also came up with a try-saver at the other end. A couple of basic errors would have frustrated him, especially one that led to a Leeds try, but he kept going on his return to the first-team side. 6

Lewis Martin - The teenager has stood tall all season and he let nobody down here. Worked hard, saved a try with an effort on Luis Roberts, and added another Super League try to his own tally. Just needs to make more metres with his backfield carries, but that will come in time. 6

Ed Chamberlain - Was solid defensively but Hull struggled to get him into the game in attack. 5

Liam Sutcliffe - Did more than his fair share of carries in the backfield but could have done more to prevent the opening Leeds try. Still, a much better account. The same can be said for most. 5

Liam Tindall - Worked hard on his return to the first-team side. Taken off in the second half as Hull reshuffled their spine. 5

Morgan Smith - Backed up Walker well to score the opening try. His effort is never in question. Took the line on well, but Hull needed to be better in good ball. That falls on everyone, though. 5

Jack Charles - The young half-back tried his best to lead the side. Kicked well, in particular a touchline conversion. 5

Herman Ese'ese - The front rower drove the ball in really strong and played huge minutes with plenty of energy. An outstanding display. He'll be well over 100 metres with the ball. 8

Danny Houghton - A tireless performance from the hooker. Effort was outstanding and gave his all late on after being moved to the halves to try and level the game. 6

Jack Brown - Just the one stint for the prop. Didn't come back on. 5

Jordan Lane - Bags of effort on the edge and looked to get himself into the game. 5

Ligi Sao - A few errors were frustrating but kept going in a less favoured position, kept busy, and ran the ball hard. 5

Joe Cator - Played a part in the first try as ball playing link in the middle. Moved to hooker late on. Effort and energy were outstanding. 6

Franklin Pele - Some big charges off the bench. Much better. 5

Will Gardiner - More Super League experience for the young prop will help. He made some good carries and got involved. 5

Logan Moy - Thrown on at full-back in the second half as Walker moved to the wing. One pass out of dummy-half aside, he did okay. 5

Yusuf Aydin - The Rovers loanee brought plenty of energy to the side. A really good account on debut. 7
