Hull KR to assess three injury concerns after Challenge Cup exit

Hull KR's disappointing Challenge Cup exit could have been compounded by three injuries in the defeat to Wigan Warriors. Rovers crashed out of the competition after being defeated 38-6, with Matt Peet's side deservedly securing a place in the final.

But the concern for Rovers now is the potential ramifications on the coming weeks, with Dean Hadley, Kelepi Tanginoa and Joe Burgess all suffering injuries. Hadley suffered a groin injury and did not return, with his withdrawal coinciding with Rovers losing their way. Fellow back-rower, Tanginoa, has suffered a sternum injury while Burgess needed a head injury assessment after an incident when trying to score late in the game.

In the mixed zone, Tanginoa walked through the area still looking in discomfort as he was flanked by members of the backroom staff. Hadley appeared optimistic about his injury.

Giving an update after the game, Peters also offered some hope after revealing Hadley had offered to go back on for the closing stages of the game, when the outcome had long been decided.

"He said towards the backend that he was OK. When I say OK, he said he could go on if we want, but Deano is tough as nails and I didn't want to risk him. I'm hoping it's not too bad, but I'm not 100% sure."

The Robins are in London next week to take on the Broncos but could be forced into changes. However, they will have Jack Broadbent and Jack Brown available for selection after being cup tied for the semi-final.
