Hull KR chase Championship's 'best player' with Bradford Bulls prop targeted

Hull KR have identified Bradford Bulls prop Eribe Doro as a transfer target ahead of the 2025 season, Rugby League Live understands. The Robins are believed to have earmarked the strong-running forward as a recruitment focus and will look to bring him to the club next season.

Doro has been one of the Championship's standout stars this season, wreaking havoc in the middle for the Odsal club during their impressive start to the season. The 23-year-old has cemented himself as one of the best players in the competition, particularly since his move to the Bulls midway through last season.

A product of Warrington Wolves' academy setup, Doro made four appearances for the Wire before playing a full season with Widnes Vikings in 2022. A year later, he signed for Halifax Panthers before moving to the Bulls mid-season.

Doro has arguably the strongest ball carry outside the second tier after developing a reputation for his explosive running style. He was instrumental in Bradford's victory over Sheffield Eagles at the weekend, after which his head coach, Eamon O'Carroll, described him as the best prop in the Championship.

"For me, he's the best player in the competition at the minute," O'Carroll said. "We know how lucky we are to have him. What he's doing, the standard that he's doing it, and the intensity he's doing it at, and he's busted, struggling with some injuries.

"I absolutely love him to bits for what he does, he's really important to us and setting a really high standard."

Changes are coming to the Rovers pack next year. Jack Brown has arrived in a deal that had been initially agreed for next season with highly respected NRL forward Jared Waerea-Hargreaves arriving at Craven Park. Going out, George King is expected to join Huddersfield Giants, and Matty Storton is believed to have signed for Wakefield Trinity. The deal that saw Brown arrive early saw Yusuf Aydin head to Hull FC.

Elsewhere, a hooker is believed to be an area of focus for the Robins, with Matt Parcell and Reiss Butterworth set to depart at the end of the season. It is widely expected that Ryan Hall will be replaced by Catalans Dragons winger, Tom Davies.
