Hull KR duo secure loan moves with off-season recruit given new challenge

Two Hull KR players have headed out on loan to the Championship. Ajahni Wallace and Lennie Ellis have both linked up with Cumbrian club Whitehaven, where they will earn first-term experience moving forward.

The pair have initially joined on two-week loan deals and could make their debuts when Haven take on Featherstone Rovers, Hull KR's dual-reg partners, this weekend.

Both Wallace and Ellis have been regulars in the Rovers reserve grade side this year while the former has played for Featherstone in the Championship already this season. Wallace was an off-season signing at Craven Park, having joined the club from Bradford Bulls ahead of the 2024 campaign. He has yet to make his competitive debut for the club.

Meanwhile, Ellis is a product of the club's academy system and made his debut for the club last year. He came through the ranks as a halfback but has more recently played at hooker.

Whitehaven are currently tenth in the Championship but find themselves in a peculiar position of being just two points clear of the relegation zone, but only two points off the play-offs at the same time. As well as playing Featherstone, the pair will be part of the club's plans when they take on Toulouse Olympique a week later, at which point a decision will be made on their longer-term futures.
