Hull KR strike Jack Broadbent deal with Castleford Tigers player swap agreed

Jack Broadbent is expected to be unveiled as a Hull KR player today after Rovers struck an agreement with Castleford Tigers to sign the talented centre. Hull Live understands a swap deal in which Corey Hall and Louis Senior will head to West Yorkshire on season-long loans has been reached and in return, Broadbent will sign a permanent, long-term contract to join the Craven Park club.

Broadbent, 23, is believed to be a player who has caught admiring glances from Rovers head coach Willie Peters soon after he arrived at the club, with that interest escalating to a point where the club was keen to secure his services. However, with an understanding that he would have other suitors with his contract set to expire at the end of the year, the Robins decided to explore the possibility of an immediate deal, something they have successfully been able to achieve.

Broadbent is believed to have commanded interest from a powerhouse Super League club ahead of 2025, but the former Leeds Rhinos talent is now set to join Hull KR. As a consequence, Corey Hall will spend the rest of the season with the Tigers while the loan deal for Senior will now be extended until the end of the year too, having provisionally signed a short-term deal last week. He scored on his debut for Castleford, finishing a length-of-the-field effort against Super League champions Wigan Warriors.

It's a deal that also sees Castleford bolster their squad in exchange for a player they were at risk of losing at the end of the season anyway. The two arrivals, coupled with that of Tex Hoy, ensure they have further depth in the outside backs while still having two options at fullback, with Hoy set to compete for a place in the side with Luke Hooley.

It means Senior's future as a Hull KR player is now unclear, with his contract at Craven Park set to expire at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Hall is contracted with the Robins until the end of 2025. As for Castleford, they are still actively looking for further recruits, with the pack now likely to be their immediate focus area.

Broadbent has played in every position across the backline during the primary stages of his career. Despite his young age he has already made 84 career appearances, scoring 29 tries.
