Human remains found in woods confirmed to be those of missing man Paul Taylor

Human remains found in woodland in Cumbria have been confirmed to be those of missing man Paul Taylor.

Mr Taylor, 57, was reported missing after he left his home in Annan at around 9.45pm on October 17, 2023. Detectives later upgraded the investigation to a murder inquiry, fearing Paul had come to serious harm.

Mr Taylor is believed to have travelled from Scotland to Carlisle before his disappearance. His car, a blue Vauxhall Corsa, was seen parked in Green Lane on October 18.

The remains, found in Finglandrigg Wood, off the B5307 outside Carlisle, earlier this month, have now been identified. Mr Taylor's family have been informed of the development.

Officers from cumbria-police>Cumbria Police continue to work at the scene and have asked people to avoid the area.
