Hummel's Coventry City kit tease as Championship rivals unveil 'beautiful' design

Coventry City fans continue to wait impatiently for news of the club’s new kits for their 2024/25 Championship campaign.

Sky Blues supporters are desperate to get their eyes on the latest designs and then splash their cash to get the replica shirts on their backs ahead of the club's programme of pre-season friendlies. The club maintain the players will have the new strips on their backs by the time they play their first warm-up match.

City’s kit suppliers Hummel have produced some hugely popular strips in recent years, and we all await to see what they have come up with this year. Will it be another retro nod to brilliant kits from the past or something entirely new and modern for supporters to savour?

One thing is for sure, City’s new home shirt is “beautiful” – that’s according to Hummel’s official X account on social media. The Danish kit company teased fans this week when they posted a message about Sunderland’s new strip, saying: “As I seek to build appropriate hype levels for the new @SunderlandAFC home shirt (out this Friday), I’m here to tell you that it’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.”

A Coventry fan replied to that, asking: “More beautiful that the Coventry shirt?” To which Hummel replied: “Is it a cop out to say they are equally beautiful? Will let you be the judge when they’re released!”

Looking at the picture montage below, can City fans take any clues from the Black Cats design? City have had stripes before, including last season, so will that be repeated again? But it's more likely that we can take a hint from the crew neck and sleeves, the latter of which show the iconic hummel chevrons run from the neck and down the arm.
