Hundreds participate in Easter egg hunt with police in Sunbury

Mar. 30—SUNBURY — The Easter Bunny may need to recover from hopping around the Good Will Hose Company playground after hundreds of children arrived for the all-inclusive Easter egg hunt held Saturday.

The Good Will Hose Company and Sunbury Police Department's all-inclusive Easter egg hunt at the fire company's playground on Line Street was a huge success, according to organizers Victoria Rosancrans and Sunbury Police Chief Travis Bremigen.

The Easter Bunny was joined by Bigfoot from This is Big Foot Country radio and Sparky the Fire Dog to interact with the children.

"I love the Easter Bunny," 3-year-old Wyatt Edinger said. "I got a lot of eggs."

Juniper Shepperson, 3, also said she had a blast.

"This was so much fun," she said.

"This was a great day for all of us," Bremigen said. "I am thankful to all the sponsors and to the officers for coming out and joining us and having a great time with the children. The Easter Bunny sure did get a workout."

Bremigen, along with Rosancrans, both said they combined ideas about an all-inclusive egg hunt and they are excited about the day and to see everyone out having a good time.

"This was a great effort by everyone involved and I'm happy to see such a great turnout," Rosancrans said."Everyone had a great time."

Blue Brew LLC was on site serving craft coffee and assorted drinks, along with Mama G's Bakery serving breakfast pasties, cookies and cupcakes.

"We couldn't have asked for a better day and I am glad to see so much community involvement," Bremigen said. "We are all already looking forward to next year."
