It’s crunch time in the police hunt for a suspected biscuit thief.
About £20,000 worth of biscuits were stolen from the Burton’s Food factory in Cwmbran, South Wales.
Police have now identified a suspect who they want to speak to - 37-year-old Paul Michael Price, from Liverpool.
The biscuits were in a lorry and a trailer that were stolen from the factory on June 17 in an early-morning raid.
Burton’s is the maker of biscuit brands such as Jammie Dodgers and Wagon Wheels.
Gwent Police said: “We’re appealing for information to locate 37-year-old Paul Michael Price from the Liverpool area who we would like to speak with following the theft of a trailer containing approximately £20,000 worth of biscuits from Burtons Foods Ltd on Ty Coch Way in Cwmbran.”
A picture of Price has been circulated - he is known to have links in the Merseyside and Stoke areas.
A 24-year-old man has been charged in relation to the theft and is set to appear at Newport Crown Court on November 5.
