Husband and wife ‘kicked and punched by racist’ at south London station
A married couple were punched and kicked by a woman hurling racist abuse at a rail station in south east London, police said.
The wife and her husband were standing on the platform when they suddenly heard shouting and foul language from behind them in Deptford.
The victims - waiting for a train to London Bridge - turned to look and were approached by a female suspect who yelled racial slurs at them and made threats of violence around 3pm on June 11.
British Transport Police said the suspected thug began to punch and kick the woman victim before attacking her husband, leaving him with injuries to his neck and face.
His wife had bruising to her arms and legs.
Detectives issued a number of mobile phone snaps taken by members of the public following the incident.
A spokesman said: “Officers believe the woman in these images may have information that could help their investigation.”
