IAG Signs ‘Bottoms’ Actress Ruby Cruz

EXCLUSIVE: Independent Artist Group has signed Ruby Cruz, one of the young stars of Orion’s critical darling Bottoms, for representation.

Cruz appears opposite Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri in the teen comedy, directed by Emma Seligman, which hit theaters in the U.S. via MGM in August following a buzzy debut at the SXSW Film Festival. Co-written by Seligman and Sennott, the film watches as two unpopular queer high school students start a fight club in order to get laid before graduation.

Cruz played Hazel Callahan, a shy outsider who is friends with Edebiri’s Josie and Sennott’s PJ.

On the television side, Cruz was most recently seen starring in the Disney+ series Willow, produced by Imagine Entertainment and Lucas Television, which served as a sequel to the same-name 1988 fantasy adventure flick starring Warwick Davis. Previously, she portrayed a teenaged Lizzy Caplan in Hulu’s Castle Rock, also appearing in a major role opposite Kate Winslet on HBO’s acclaimed crime drama series Mare of Easttown.

Cruz continues to be represented by Landsburg Management.
