Ianis Hagi suffered what looked like a serious head knock at Euro 2024 and was left bleeding - before playing on with protective netting.

The Rangers playmaker started Romania's game with the Netherlands and was in the wars in the early stages. Before Cody Gakpo gave the Dutch the lead, Hagi went up for an early header with Denzel Dumfries, and was left on the deck clutching his head. BBC cameras showed Hagi bleeding from a nasty cut and he went off to receive medical treatment as his teammates watched with baited breath.

But after being attended to by doctors, he returned to the pitch with some protective head gear - some nifty netting designed to hold his dressing into place. It is Hagi's 38th cap for his country, having been used as a sub in their opening two group games before starting the draw with Slovakia that sealed their passage to the knockout stages.
