Iced coffee is a staple summer drink for many people when it's warm and sunny outside, but buying them from cafes all the time can end up being a very expensive habit - which is never ideal during the ongoing cost of living crisis.

However, one savvy shopper has found the answer to all of your cravings in the form of a budget-friendly iced coffee carton from Lidl that tastes 'delicious' and costs less than £2.

TikTokker @megsays, who has built up a loyal follower base of more than 18,000 people, often uses her social media platform to review food items from the budget supermarket - in particular, the 'Flavour of the Week' items, which brings together cuisines from all over the world to sell on its shop shelves.

And she says iced coffee lovers can save 'so much money' on getting their fix by purchasing one specific carton from Lidl at the moment, which was included in the 'Alps Week' collection and costs less than the price of a drink you'd buy when out and about.

In the video, she said she 'had to put shoppers on' to the Alpen Fest Viennese Style Iced Coffee, which can be found in the 'limited offers' aisle of the budget supermarket.

Raving about the drink after pouring herself a glass, she said: "This is heaven, and I just have to come on and share it. It is just one of the best discoveries, and I never would have found it if I hadn't started this series.

"It's £1.69 which I can never wrap my head around. Where can you get a singular iced coffee for £1.69?"

Meg then described how it tastes 'just like' an iced coffee you would buy from a shop, saying: "I genuinely think this is one of the best life hacks ever."

Not only is it perfect for enjoying over ice, as Meg said she had also tried it in hot coffee instead of oat milk, which gave it a 'gorgeous, nutty, chocolatey flavour which was 'so delicious'.

The video was posted this week on June 19, so you should still be able to find it in your local Lidl. In the comments, people agreed that it was a great buy, with many saying they'd been stocking up on the hidden gem.

One person said: "Thanks for putting us on since last alps week, I have about 4 stocked up in my cupboard."

Another commented: "I brought this the other day, thanks to you. Tried it - loved it and had to stock up and buy an extra two more!!"

"Consider me influenced," someone else said, while another wrote: "I've had this and it's so yummy."
