Idah or Miovski Celtic transfer poser as £5million price comparison makes pundit's mind up

£5m up front in cold hard cash is a lot of money for Celtic to spend on Adam Idah and Mark Wilson wonders if they might be able to get another striking target for the same cash or less.

The Norwich City loanee has netted seven times in 14 appearances for the Hoops, and the Canaries are said to be looking for that sort of figure to make the deal permanent. The champions were linked with Aberdeen top scorer Miovski in January and the North Macedonian has rattled in 24 goals during a dismal season for the Dons, proving he can be relied upon in the Premiership and on the European stage.

If Celtic could stagger payments on Idah and ensure they only stump up as he delivers on certain targets, then Wilson would be all for extending the Cork man's stay in Glasgow. But for the full whack, he reckons there are perhaps better options out there that could be less expensive, with Miovski touted as the obvious alternative.

"I don't think it's a no brainer, but I think he's done well enough to earn himself another shot at Celtic," he told Clyde Super Scoreboard. "£5million? I think if I was in celtic's shoes, I'd try and get that down a bit or I'd try and incentivise it a bit. Maybe pay £3m and then after so many appearance sor goals or whatever, then it adds up to £5m over a period of time.

"£5m for a striker in this country, even at Celtic or Rangers, you're looking for them to be the no 1 striker. When Kyogo's about, he's never going to be the no 1 striker.

"I do believe they need someone to push Kyogo and Idah's come here and scored goals. He's shown he can handle the demands in a short space of time, so it puts him in a good place and ahead of others that you're looking to bring in.

"But £5m? Who else could you get? Could you get a Miovski for £5m? Probably, and I'd take Miovski before him."
