I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! producers have denied reports there is a secret hot water supply in the camp.

The ITV reality show is being filmed for the second year at Gwrych Castle in north Wales with contestants including TV presenter Richard Madeley, former Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge, ex-Strictly Come Dancing judge Dame Arlene Phillips, Emmerdale star Danny Miller and retired footballer David Ginola.

The celebrities have been told they must carry out chores in order to earn warm water for the shower including keeping wood burning at all times and pumping the water pump for 40 minutes twice a day.

An insider had told The Sun newspaper the tasks are "for show" and that the production crew can heat up the water at the flick of a switch.

A spokesperson told Yahoo UK: "There is NOT a constant flow of hot water. We’ve been very clear that all campmates need to do three things to earn lukewarm water. If they don't do it, they don't get the water.

"We have a dial that tells production once this is done.

"The celebs must do certain jobs throughout the day to be rewarded with lukewarm water it's not hot water.

"If they don’t successfully complete the tasks they only get cold water, it’s as simple as that."

Last year hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed that despite being supplied with warm water, the celebrities had complained they never felt warm in the castle.

McPartlin said: “We’ve spoken to them down at trials and we said, ‘Is it cold in there?’ and they said it’s that cold that you never, ever get warm.

“Even at night, it’s in your bones. You know when you’ve been out all day walking and you’re cold . . . it’s like that. Day in, day out.”

Donnelly added: “They said that even when they have a warm shower they immediately get cold again.

"I think that has been the hardest thing for them, the cold.”
