Michael Jackson’s former doctor, Conrad Murray, is being lined up to appear on the next series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Switching out his white lab coat for some khaki clothing, the US doctor will reportedly be taking a trip down under to share some of his “extraordinary stories” with his fellow jungle campmates.
Speaking about the rumours, Conrad’s publicist Max Markson confirmed that the medic is in negotiations with ITV chiefs: “It is true. We are talking to the show’s producers about having Conrad in the jungle for the next show.
“I’m sure everyone will be fascinated to hear what Conrad has to say about his time with Michael,” he told The Mirror. “He’s a doctor, very calm and great with people and he has some extraordinary stories to tell.
“He’d be a great draw and I’m sure he’d be a fascinating guest for the show.”
This revelation comes a week after Dr Murray released his memoirs – titled This Is It – in which he makes a string of sensational claims about his former superstar client.
Dr Murray had been Michael Jackson’s personal physician before the star suffered from cardiac arrest, following a massive overdose of the general anaesthetic propofol, which resulted in his untimely death in 2009.
The Los Angeles County Coroner ruled his death a homicide, and Murray was then sentenced to four years in jail after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
He served two years before being released, and is now keen to “rebuild his reputation” and obtain his medical license again, according to reports.
A source said: “He really believes he can rebuild his reputation after the controversy of the past few years.
“Becoming a practicing doctor again is very much part of that plan.”
If Dr Conrad Murray enters the jungle, he could be joined by a host of celebrities including The Wanted’s Tom Parker, The Only Way Is Essex cast member Jessica Wright and former Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews.
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here returns later this year.
