I'm A Celebrity crowns Jill Scott as 2022 jungle champion

It's official – after three weeks of tears, trials and tribulations, I'm A Celebrity has crowned Jill Scott as their 2022 winner.

The England Lioness made it through to the final alongside Matt Hancock and Hollyoaks star Owen Warner, but was crowned Queen of the Jungle after a record-breaking 12million votes were cast within the last 24 hours.

After a gruelling final day which included one last bushtucker trial where she was smothered with rats, Scott joined Ant and Dec as she returned to reality to a hero's welcome.

Speaking on their win, the star was given their crown and sceptre and said: "Oh, I just can't believe it honestly. I think I'm going to owe my grandma a lot of money for the 12million calls!"

She later paid tribute to the rest of her campmates, and said: "Look, these guys were absolutely incredible. We were one big team. I don't think there should be one winner. We couldn't have gone through it without all of us and I think we've all been winners of I'm A Celebrity."

Warner came second, while MP Hancock made it to third place. She was crowned by Mike Tindall, who came in fourth place.

Scott beat out 11 other UK celebrities in order to be crowned jungle champion, with 2022 proving to be one of the show's most dramatic and divisive to date.

Olivia Attwood lasted less than 24 hours on the series before being forced to withdraw on medical grounds.

Loose Women presenter Charlene White was the first officially eliminated contestant, followed by Scarlette Douglas, then Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver.

Boy George was fourth out, with comedian Babatúndé Aléshé coming out fifth, and Chris Moyles sixth.

Seann Walsh was the seventh star to leave the camp, narrowly missing out on the semi-finals, and Mike Tindall was the last star to leave before the final.

Scott takes over from last year's winner, Emmerdale's Danny Miller, who was crowned King Of The Castle after the series was forced to relocate to Wales due to Covid restrictions.
