Boy George leaves 'I'm A Celebrity' fans in hysterics with 'face yoga' session

I'm A Celebrity fans were welcomed into a whole new world of self-care on Thursday night's episode, as Boy George introduced the camp to 'face yoga'.

Following a day of tension in camp following the controversial arrival of MP Matt Hancock, Boy George took to meditation and yoga to calm himself down.

The 61-year-old singer's calming efforts were noted by the campmates, prompting the Culture Club star to reveal how he looks after himself.

"I’m not a big fan of botox and things like that. It’s not a good look," he revealed. "There are whole routines on the internet of face yoga. Just look surprised."

He then guided stars, including Seann Walsh, through some techniques, which included stretching out your face, opening your mouth wide, and wide smiles.

Walsh clearly felt a little awkward doing it, explaining later in the Bush Telegraph through laughter: "I can’t handle this. I love Boy George. It’s absolutely ridiculous. What is my life now?"

The hilarious moment wasn't missed by fans, who flocked to Twitter to laugh about the bizarre, though seemingly affective, routine.

"Face Yoga with Boy George sounds like an Alan Partridge idea for a programme," tweeted one fan.

"Boy George and Seann Walsh doing “face yoga” is highly amusing to me, give me more of it," another wrote.

While another suggested it as their own coping mechanism for Hancock being in the jungle, stating: "Instead of watching the trial I shall do face yoga. Every time he’s on the screen I shall do face yoga, by the time he’s voted out I shall be looking 10 years younger."

The light-hearted moment from Boy George comes less than a day after admitting he was considering quitting the series following the arrival of Hancock, and his role in the coronavirus lockdown.

He admitted to Sue Cleaver: "I don't really know what to do with my feelings. You know, today was obviously quite emotional for me.

"I don't know what it's going to be like, I actually don't really know if I want to be here."

Before the Coronation Street star convinced him to stay, Boy George opened up to Scarlette Douglas about how his mum, Dinah O'Dowd, ended up in hospital alone during the midst of the pandemic in 2020.

"You know, at the beginning of the pandemic my mum was in hospital. I wasn’t allowed to see her. I thought she was going to die," she said.

"I was tweeting Greenwich hospital going, ‘Please look after my mum.’ I used my name, I was like ‘Please look after my mum.’ And they did, she was fine… I feel like, I don’t want to be sitting here like I’m having fun with him.

"It’s difficult for me because, you know, had something happened, if my mum had gone, I wouldn’t be here now. I would have gone when he walked in."

"If I had lost my mum, I would go. And I feel a little bit selfish, you know, just kind of… everyone’s so nice to him and I was like Jesus, what we gonna do?" he later added to the Bush Telegraph.

"I don’t want to spoil this experience for myself. I’m not good at hiding what I feel. Especially when it’s something so strong."
