I’m A Celebrity viewers accused Boy George of name-dropping after he told a story about Jamie Oliver being the only person who has ever bought him dinner.

The pop icon, 61, opened up as he and his fellow campers on the ITV show talked about eating out and paying restaurant bills.

“If someone’s got no money and they’re… I would never take a friend who I know hasn’t got much money to an expensive restaurant and make them pay,” said the Karma Chameleon singer.

“That would just never happen. I think, actually in 30 years, one person’s bought me dinner. The one person who has bought me dinner is Jamie Oliver.”

Boy George said he had been to Oliver’s restaurant and that the celebrity chef was there.

He said: “I had dinner and they said Jamie’s bought your dinner.

"I said, ‘You’re the first man in 30 years that’s bought me dinner, thank you so much’.”

However, the star’s campmate Seann Walsh said he would happily fork out for a meal for the 80s icon.

“I’d buy George a meal,” he said.

“But he would have to come to Wagamama. I don't know it... would he be up for that? We’d have to get another seat for his hat.”

Viewers were amused to hear another story where the pop star mentions a celeb.

"Name dropping again George," one tweeted.

"Oh my Goddd Boy George stop name dropping please!" said another.

"Boy George whenever anyone is having a conversation getting ready to name drop and one up then," said another.
