'I'm a Celeb': Joel Dommett rushed to hospital after on set accident
I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp host Joel Dommett has been rushed to hospital in Australia following a nasty accident on set of the hit reality show.
Dommett was absent from Tuesday evening’s episode, after windy conditions caused a wooden sign to fall onto his head.
The 32-year-old comedian described the accident on his official Instagram account, and said he had to have seven stitches.
“Unfortunately due to unforeseen windy circumstances blowing the set onto my head during rehearsals, I won’t be able to present Extra Camp this evening.
“I had seven stitches like a big brave boy and I’ll be back tomorrow. To be honest I’m less worried about my health and more worried that the show will be better without me. Half a day off school to go home and watch Neighbours!” Dommett wrote.
His absence was addressed on the episode with his co-host Scarlett Moffatt saying: “Unfortunately we’re a man down as Joel isn’t well, but the show must go on.”
Dommett has updated his followers on Instagram about his wellbeing. With a bandaged head, he thanked his fans for their concern with an Instagram story.
“Thank you for all your concerns, I’m ok errr I’ve got this little cartoon bandage on I’m wearing Scarlett’s hoodie and I got blood all over and sorry Scarlett, I shall wash it,” he said.
He went on to say that he fainted shortly after the accident, only to wake up with his co-host Joe Swash kissing him.
“I can’t actually watch the show because we are in Australia so let me know how its going I’m sure its fine- Joe and Scarlett are the best genuinely I fainted and I woke up Joe was kissing my face.”
