I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! South Africa spoilers follow.

I'm a Celeb's All-Stars series said goodbye to one of the show's most integral campmates tonight (May 9), following another tough Bushtucker Trial.

Joe Swash won the 2008 series and later presented spin-off after-shows Get Me Out of Here NOW! and Extra Camp. He even met his wife Stacey Solomon through the show. But his jungle comeback came to an end tonight. Let's recap what went down.

The episode began as celebs voted to save each other from the Survival Trials, which left Joe and Phil Tufnell (ironically, both previous Kings of the Jungle) as the unlucky pair.

To remain in the show, Joe and Phil had to enter the Temple of Doom and find the right codes to unlock four locks each. The person to do so first would be named the winner.

Of course, they had to deal with plenty of creepy crawlies along the way, with snakes dropping in on them right off the bat.

Phil got off to a great start, managing to get three locks in a very short amount of time. While Phil kept his cool, an incredibly frustrated Joe dropped many, many expletives. It didn't take long for Phil to unlock his final lock and win.

Hosts Ant and Dec called it the "sweariest trial in the history of I'm a Celebrity", but Joe chalked up his swearing and poor performance to the fact that he was hyperventilating from stress because he hadn't eaten.

"I'm so out of sync with everything," Joe explained. "I've got kids. I think I'm over it, I'm too old for this game.

"It's been a lot harder, I've got so much more to think about. My kids, my wife, I can't wait to see 'em. It's been really hard. Too much on my mind to concentrate and focus."

Joe also explained that he was "was desperate to come back and say thanks", stating that he owes "everything" he has to I'm a Celebrity.

But the remaining campmates didn't have time to miss Joe too much, as they were quickly whisked to all take part in another Survival Trial, with two of them set to go home tomorrow.

Who will those unlucky celebs be? Just before the episode ended, we saw that Fatima Whitbread, Myleene Klass and Carol Vorderman completed the Trial — which means that there are five celebrities competing for three places...

I'm a Celebrity… South Africa airs on Mondays-Fridays at 9pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
