The manager of a new café on the outskirts of a town has spoken of her excitement ahead of its opening.

Marcia Taylor will be running The Suffolk Café, which is due to open at the Park Farm Business Centre in Fornham St Genevieve, near Bury St Edmunds, on Monday.

After managing a care home and a health club, Ms Taylor is following her passion and love of hospitality.

"I did it from school and when I was younger," she said, when asked about her background in hospitality.

"But then I ended up working for Suffolk County Council and managing a residential care home for the elderly.

"I've just always had a love for catering and always fancied running my own coffee shop one day."

The café has long been in the process, with work on the building starting about two years ago.

Ms Taylor said: "For the last couple of years they've been asked by tenants 'when can we have a coffee shop?' As everywhere else has. A lot of the parks have them now."

Customers will be able to enjoy a range of panini's, sandwiches, scotch eggs, homemade cakes and scones, made from local produce, when visiting the café.

"It's nerves, but excitement as well," Ms Taylor added.

"To me, I can't wait to get it open - I'm so excited. I want to make sure we get it right.

"We have been open this week just to the park for coffee and cakes, so we have been getting some lovely feedback from the staff on site."

There will be free parking on site, as well as electric vehicle charging points.

The eco-friendly building also has 170 solar panels on its roof.
