Brits are currently feeling the heat, with temperatures soaring across the UK.

It's quite the change after a notably wet and chilly spring, leading to widespread in sleepless nights.

The blazing sun beating down on bedrooms throughout the day is leaving many tossing and turning come nightfall, unable to drift off and it's not just adults who are suffering. Babies too can become agitated without their usual rest, and you're sure to notice if they miss out on those precious zzz's.

In a stroke of good fortune, mum and TikTok user @ewanandfriends account has stepped in with some sage advice, offering "tips to keep baby cool in a heatwave", much to the gratitude of numerous parents who've been quick to say "thank you".

One concerned mother asked: "Do you have any tips on keeping a newborn cool in this horrendous heatwave please? ", prompting a helpful response from the account: "These tips are the same for a newborn but apply them to your own bedroom as this is where your baby will be sleeping for the first six months."

Top of the list is to "keep the curtains drawn during the day" to prevent the sun from warming up the room, along with a recommendation to "invest in a black-out blind to block the sun", reports the Mirror.

For those considering a fan, the advice is clear: don't aim it directly at your little one, but rather "use a fan directed against the wall to circulate the air".

Another tip includes "open the window during the day if it's safe to do so and the air outside is cooler, to help generate a breeze to cool the room".

The mother advised opting for "lightweight breathable clothes" when dressing your baby, and "such as a 0.5 tog muslin sleeping bag" for their bedding. You may also use just a "cotton vest and nappy".

If your baby shows sign of being thirsty, you could also "offer them another feed". Additionally, if concerns arise, it is suggested to gauge the temperature in the room, and utilise a forehead thermometer to assess their body temperature.

In response, the parent community expressed their gratitude towards this advice-loaded video, with many compliments pouring in stating they "loved" the tips.
