'Impossible': Dad Dismisses Doubters as Son's Shark Video Goes Viral

Footage of an eight-year-old boy’s close encounter with a shark during a family fishing trip along the Queensland coast has been viewed over 15 million times on TikTok, where some have cast doubts on what it shows.

Manni Alam was on a fishing trip with his father, Radwan, and family friend Moe Alsayed, when Alsayed captured video footage of Manni appearing from beneath the waves to show off a fish he had caught.

Manni told 9News that he had jumped in the water after catching the fish for the purpose of a TikTok video.

As Alsayed films the youngster throwing the fish back onto the boat, a small shark is seen appearing from beneath and grabbing Manni’s chest.

Manni’s father has denied some online speculation that the video is faked, calling the idea “impossible” in a media appearance.

His son, meanwhile, proudly showed off a mark near his shoulder that he attributed to the shark during an appearance alongside Alsayed on 10 News First. Credit: Martin Haddad via Storyful
