Inbetweeners star James Buckley said he's worried about his wife Clair being called up to dance on Strictly because of the so-called 'Strictly curse'.

The couple, whose YouTube channel following their day-to-day lives has nearly 150,000 subscribers, have been together since 2012 and have two children together.

Speaking on the White Wine Question Time podcast James, who played Jay Cartwright in the E4 show and films, told host Kate Thornton he was worried the couple might succumb to the 'curse' which has seen celebs and their dance partners pair up romantically behind-the-scenes.

Speaking on White Wine Question Time, he said: "I've only got one fear and it hasn't come true. But as people get to know Clair a bit more, I'm worried about if Strictly asked you [to be on the show]. I don't want the Strictly curse to come."

While actor Clair said she didn't think the dance show was on the cards for her, she also tried to reassure James.

"I keep explaining to James," she said. "The quintessential, muscly, handsome dancer guy, it's not my type."

James joked that her comments were supposed to make him feel better. He quipped: "'I don't like good looking guys, you know that.' Oh yeah, thanks."

The pair, who have released a book called At Home With The Buckleys: Scummy stories and misadventures from modern family life, started the YouTube channel in 2020, though James had his own gaming channel before then.

This week he was declared the first UK millionaire from popular site Cameo, where people can request personalised video messages from celebrities.

Clair, who edits the couple's videos, admitted that the pair of them spending too much time together was sometimes a 'recipe for disaster'.

While before the coronavirus pandemic, she said James was constantly working and 'back and forward' and at first the lockdown was a 'strange, nice thing' where the family all got to spend time together, in the end they did get 'a bit fed up of it'.

She explained: "Obviously, when the YouTube channel happened, we were suddenly working together. Sometimes when you can work together, then you've got to chill out together, raise kids together. You know, you are quite annoying."

James, describing himself as a 'problem solver', replied with: "Well, I don't do any of the work or raise the kids, so there's two things that I'm not involved with.

"I'm all about the chilling out I love that bit is the best bit that bit."

And Clair admitted that James's constant farting and burping did annoy her. "It's constant," she said. "That really does get on my nerves. I hate that."

In response to Thornton saying it wasn't 'the sexiest thing', Clair quipped: "But it's alright, sexy's not my type!"
