A SCOTTISH independence campaign day is set to take place this weekend in Dumfries and Galloway.

Believe in Scotland (BiS) has teamed up with local campaign group Yes Moffat for a day of action in the area.

The campaign day will take place on Saturday, May 11, where activists will be delivering pro-Scottish independence materials through doors in Moffat, with stalls also being set up along the high street which reflect “visions of [Scotland’s] future”.

They will be joined by the Yes Bikers, Future Voices, the Dumfries and Galloway Indy Hub and a stall set up by BiS.

As part of the day of action, the group is also putting on a series of activities which explore Moffat's relationship with William Wallace, including stories from the Medieval Bruce Heritage Trust and ancient weaponry from the Wallace Armourers, For any children attending, there will also be a treasure hunt and face painting available.

BiS aims to collaborate with other local Yes groups on campaign days throughout 2024.

Those attending have been asked to arrive at Saint Andrew’s Church of Scotland (1 Church Place, Moffat, DG10 9ES) at 10.45am to get ready, before setting off at 11am and meeting back at 1.30pm for refreshments.

The campaign day is due to end at 2.30pm.
