Indian restaurant Akshaya to open in Nottingham city centre with 25% off

There is no shortage of curry houses in Nottingham city centre. MemSaab, Kottaram, Laguna, Tamatanga and Desi Downtown are amongst the Indian restaurants known for their flavourful cuisine.

Now there's another by the name of Akshaya promising it is "where tradition meets taste." The grand opening is on Wednesday, May 22 at 6pm, with food and entertainment and a drinks offer of two Cobra beers for the price of one. Anyone eating there between May 22-29 will also receive 25 per cent off the food bill.

Akshaya, on the corner of Friar Lane and Maid Marian Way, will be serving food from across the Indian continent, including dishes from the south such as dosas.

"Fresh ingredients, tasty meals and true flavour" boasts the website but the full menu hasn't been revealed.

The site has been the home of Indian restaurants for decades. In 2017 it became Tuk Tuk street food until the closure more than a year ago. Before that it was Chutney, and going back even further Chutney Jacks.
