If you've been busy crossing off the days until Marvel's Inhumans hits your telly, then we're afraid we have some bad news for you.

Yes, the long-awaited TV series has had its debut pushed back by the US network ABC, but don't worry – there's not too much longer to wait.

The series was originally scheduled for September 26 following its IMAX release on September 1, but we'll now have to wait another three days before it migrates to the small screen.

Instead, the two-hour premiere episode will now air on Friday, September 29 (via EW) at 8pm before settling into its regular 9pm slot after Once Upon a Time.

Basically, you might want to cancel your Friday plans for the near future.

Fans have been impatiently waiting for the Inhumans to make their appearance – not least because of Lockjaw, a giant teleporting dog.

We got our first glimpse of Lockjaw last month when a trailer leaked online, and let's just say we think he deserves all the games of fetch he can handle.

Marvel's Inhumans will tell the origin story of Black Bolt, king of a race of super-powered beings, who will be played Anson Mount. His adversary? Game of Thrones' Iwan Rheon, no less.

Marvel's Inhumans kicks off its first two episodes on IMAX screens worldwide on September 1, and on ABC in the US on September 29. A UK broadcaster is yet to be announced.
