Injured cyclist taken to hospital after being hit by BMW car which crashed into property

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

A black BMW struck a cyclist before crashing into the wall of a property in Darlington. The incident occurred on Fitzwilliam Drive at around 2.50pm on Friday, June 28.

The cyclist sustained injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The driver of the BMW is not believed to have been injured.

Durham Constabulary are investigating the collision and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed it. They would also like to speak to anyone who has any dashcam footage of the incident, or of the car or bike prior to the collision.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We're appealing for witnesses to a collision between a bike and a car which happened last Friday (June 28). A black BMW struck a cyclist before colliding with the wall of a property on Fitzwilliam Drive, in Darlington.

"The cyclist sustained injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The driver of the BMW is not believed to have been injured. It happened at 2.50pm and officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision."
