Injured person rushed to hospital after armed police attend serious incident

A person has been taken to hospital by ambulance after armed police were called to a serious incident this evening.

Emergency services were called after the alarm was raised in the Tilery area of Stockton just before 6pm.

One person was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital for further medical attention.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 5.56pm to reports of a person injured on Norton Road in Stockton this evening.

“We sent a clinical team leader and an emergency ambulance and took one person to hospital for further treatment.”

Cleveland Police were in attendance and crime scene investigation was launched.

It is understood arrests were made in the Portrack area shortly afterwards.

The force has been contacted for further information.
