Plans have been unveiled for a second grand-scale Eden Project in the UK, which is set to cost around £130m. Rumour has it that planning permission will soon be given for Dundee in Scotland to commence work on this highly anticipated tourist magnet.

The proposed attraction will be located at the former city gasworks site, north of East Dock Street, and will comprise three different venues, including a space in the historic gas holder. Its sister site in Cornwall is famous worldwide for being "the largest indoor rainforest in the world", drawing roughly one million tourists annually.

The Dundee attraction aims to weave together an array of elements such as exhibits, performance areas, learning spaces, play zones, immersive experiences, horticulture areas, live music stages, art displays, along with food, drink, and retail outlets. The Valve, the entrance exhibition building comprising a single-level menu, positioned west of the site, will be the first venue visitors see upon arrival.

Besides admission, it also promised a cosy cafe and comfy seating areas. Next up is a stunning installation fittingly called The Lush Bunker, nestled inside the old gas holder.

This below-ground surprise includes an exhibition space called The Seam. According to the organisers, this structure will steal the spotlight thanks to its architectural significance, soaring to a maximum height of about 36 metres (118ft), reports the Express.

A gently coiling ramp will guide visitors through the different levels within the building, each offering various thematic explorations. A third engaging venue, whose name remains under wraps, expands over two levels and will display an eclectic mix of gallery spaces, installations, exhibits, and captivating artwork.

Additionally, Gathering Meadows a verdant space south of the site will feature an outdoor live events scene with the capacity to accommodate up to 6,000 revelers.

The application is set to be presented before Dundee City Council's planning committee later and comes with a recommendation for approval.

A separate planning application for a pedestrian bridge linking the Eden Project to the waterfront will be deliberated at a future date.
