A 19th century home, in Newchurch, is on the market and it looks like it was taken straight out of the hit Netflix series Bridgerton.

Ashlands is a grade II listed property that dates back to 1863 and it has retained architectural features typical of the Regency era, which is when Bridgerton is set.

The 12 bedroom home, which is being marketed by Fine & Country, is on the market for £1.8 million and it’s said to be a “rare opportunity to create an incredible, legacy family home”.

The site was previously used as a residential care home and could be used as a home or converted into a new business.

When you enter the property you are met with a grand hallway with a stained glass window on the staircase.

Inside the sizeable property, you will find six reception rooms and five bathrooms – which is more than enough space to host your very own regency ball.

If this was not enough, there is also space in the property for a workshop which can also be used as an office space.

The lounge has its own ornate ceiling complete with a chandelier and feature fireplace.

The property is also situated on sizeable grounds “away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life”, with plenty of gardens, parking and outdoor entertainment spaces.

To the rear of the property is a patio garden with a greenhouse.

Also in the home are staff quarters which can be converted for a different use to suit the modern-day buyer.

A spokesperson for Fine & Country said: “Welcome to Ashlands, a stunning grade II Listed character property dating back to 1863, located off Turnpike in Newchurch, Rossendale.

"This impressive residence boasts not only six reception rooms and five bathrooms but also an astounding 12 bedrooms in its current configuration, offering many possible options for going forward - a rare opportunity to create an incredible, legacy family home.

“The property offers widespread accommodation with a generous number of reception spaces, bathrooms and of course all bedrooms too. There really is here, boundless potential to create something truly special, with the property being a perfect canvas on which to unleash your creativity and vision.

“Situated in a great position with lovely outlooks all round in its ample setting, Ashlands provides not only a great property itself, but also a sense of comparative serenity and seclusion that is hard to come by, from its exceptional setting too.

“So whether you are looking for a property to establish a family estate, a unique business opportunity or a fabulous restoration project, this character property has it all.

“Don't miss out on the chance to own a piece of history and create something truly remarkable.”
