The couple eventually met up for dinner and Madeley said: "When he kissed me goodnight, it was game over."
She added of introducing him to her famous parents: "The first time (my mum) met him, she whispered to me, 'If you don’t marry him, I will.'"
When did Chloe Madeley and James Haskell get married?
Madeley and Haskell got married in a stunning winter wedding just under five years ago, on 16 December, 2018.
Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley gave his daughter away and their wedding photos showed bride and groom looking blissfully happy.
They welcomed their daughter, Bodhi, in August 2022 and showed fans their new lives as parents in fly-on-the-wall documentary series Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair.
What happened to James Haskell on I'm A Celebrity?
In 2018, Haskell entered the jungle as one of the contestants in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!.
However, he rubbed up campmates and viewers the wrong way in a series of rants and rows which included him refusing to answer quiz questions for one challenge as he claimed he was "too intelligent" and labelled the rest of the camp a "circle of stupidity".
Personal trainer Madeley said in an Instagram Q&A that she thought her husband was simply hangry, writing: "The poor guy is in a right old grump. His BMR(basic metabolic rate) is around 2500 cals his TDEE(Total daily energy expenditure) is around 4000 cals so to go down to 800 maybe 1200 with stars, is clearly taking its toll on him.
"I think people should remember this is a TV show orchestrated to get big reactions out of big characters, and maybe take it a tad less seriously."
What went wrong for Chloe Madeley and James Haskell?
Although neither star has spoken out on the details of their split, the pair made no secret of the heated rows that they had during their relationship.
Talking about their romance being filled with passion as well as fiery disagreements in 2018, Madeley told The Mirror: "James is a domineering alpha male which is why I’m so attracted to him and why I sometimes hate him. And I’m a mouthy broad who has to be in control all the time.
"We must have broken up in excess of a thousand times. We know when it’s really serious because we each go eerily quiet."
Haskell has been spotted on many a big night out with rugby pals over the years, but Madeley told The Sun in October that one of their biggest ever bust ups was about photos of other women he had posted to Instagram on a trip to Ibiza.
She said: "My argument was, ‘I don’t mind that that is your job but I don’t want you putting it on social media when everyone knows I’m your wife."
Their documentary A Family Affair is still airing and a recent episode showed the pair bickering over Haskell not having prepared for a recording of their podcast.
Madeley shushed Haskell as he continued talking while she was on a Zoom call for work, which sparked an angry reaction.
Haskell said: "She shushes me like I’m a dog or like I’m a baby. I’m like ‘shush me again and that’s the last thing you’ll ever do.'"
What have Chloe Madeley and James Haskell said about their split?
After speculation that they had split when both stars were seen out separately without their wedding rings, Madeley and Haskell confirmed their split on social media on 28 October.
They both posted very similar statements, with Haskell's reading: "Chloe and I mutually decided to separate at the end of September, 2023.
"We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time – certainly not while the television show was airing – but constant speculation about our marriage, has unfortunately, forced our hand.
"Beyond this statement, we will not be speaking about this matter publicly, and we would request privacy at this time.
"Our sole focus now is our beautiful daughter. We shall continue to co-parent with nothing but love."
Madeley made no further comment on the statement, but Haskell captioned his: "It’s with a lot of sadness I write this post, but unfortunately, in the world we live in, it has to be done.
"My priority is my daughter’s and Chloe’s happiness and security. For that reason I won’t be commenting any further."
