Inside Greggs late night rave in Newcastle - Schak, sausage rolls and smoke cannons

Greggs became the unlikely scene for a late night rave on Tuesday night as a packed crowd enjoy sausage rolls, smoke cannons and a set from DJ Schak, as police even turned up to make sure things didn't get too out of control.

There was great excitement last night when Tyneside favourite Schak announced that he and producer Will Atkinson would be launching their new single Yesterday with a very special celebration that would see them take over a branch of Greggs in Newcastle city centre.

Tickets for the rave, at the baker's shop on Northumberland Street, were both very limited and in high demand, meaning that the place was packed to the rafters, not long after doors opened just after 10pm. And those lucky enough to be there had quite a night, with both glowsticks and sausage rolls held in the air, as Schak and Will, both decked out in the Greggs uniform, did their thing

Smoke and confetti shot out of cannons inside the shop as it was transformed into a night club for the occasion. Over the moon with how it went and the fact he'd been presented with a box of deluxe pasties, Schak took to Instagram to share a few photos from the 'Sausage Rolls and Stompers' event, including one of a police car parked right outside. He wrote: "Here man last neet was such a crease. thank you so much to @greggs_official @lab54_uk & @armadamusic for hosting us, was such an honour to play at Greggs the whole thing was so radge even the Bizzies turned up."

Would also like to say a massive thank you to Greggs for giving us a deluxe golden box of pasties feel like I won a golden ticket to Willy Wonkas factory. What a belter UP THE TOON!"

Greggs also posted about the rave on Insta, with the famous Geordie bakery writing: "A glow stick in one hand, Sausage Roll in the other? Huge thanks to North East legend @schak___ and @willatkinson90 for bringing the beats and vibes."
