Inside Newcastle star Joelinton's wedding - stunning venue, late night party and Bruno singing

There were celebrations into the ear.ly hours on Friday, as Joelinton tied the knot with other half Thays Gondim in the couple's native Brazil, in front of family and friends including fellow Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes, who had a starring role in the reception.

After Joelinton signed for NUFC in a £40m deal from Hoffenheim in the summer of 2019, Thays moved to Tyneside months later and has been an almost permanent presence at St James' Park ever since, regularly posting photos of herself in the stands and with Big Joe and the couple's children on the pitch. The couple welcomed their third child together last year and, as Newcastle ended their season on winning ways with a victory against Brentford last weekend, Joelinton and Thays returned home to get married.

They got married at a luxury location, close to one of Brazil's most famous beaches Praia dos Carneiros, with both Joelinton, wearing a sharp tuxedo and Thays, wearing a stunning gown with veil, both looking emotional as their children followed them down the aisle, to the soundtrack of a string quartet.

After the ceremony, the celebrations went on well into the night, as Joelinton changed into silk floral shirt and white shorts and bride Thays went for a strapless white dress as they posed for their wedding photos together and with their children. The new husband and wife have both been sharing snapshots from the days on their Instagram.

And some of the clips from later on into the evening show a shirtless Bruno and Joelinton on stage with the wedding band, with midfield dynamo Bruno not shying away from grabbing the mic to serenade the other guests, before joining in with some dancing with one of the guest entertainers.

Bruno's wife Ana also had her moment in the spotlight too, as she joined Thays on stage to sing along to another song the band was playing.

As Newcastle United squad were thrashed 8-0 by A-League Allstars, Joelinton was allowed to leave Australia after the clash with Tottenham in Melbourne to prepare for his wedding. The fan favourite and other half Thays took over the St James' Park pitch in February 2023 for an elaborate gender reveal, as they found out there were expecting a little boy.
