Inside Soap Awards announces full list of nominees for 2023 ceremony

The Inside Soap Awards are back for another year, with the full list of nominees now announced for the 2023 ceremony.

Stars from Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks are set to battle for glory in the popular awards, which will once again be determined solely by public votes.

Daytime soaps Home and Away and Doctors are also up for prizes, alongside long-running dramas Casualty and Waterloo Road.

As always, there's a chance to vote for familiar categories like Best Storyline, Best Newcomer and the all-important award for Best Soap.

Fans are also being invited to nominate their Soap Superstar of 2023, who can be any soap star from any show who has made the past year special for them.

Some of the biggest soap highlights from the past year are reflected in the nominations, including Cindy Beale's shock return from the dead in EastEnders and the Emmerdale storm drama for the show's 50th anniversary.

Coronation Street is recognised for its acid attack storyline, while Hollyoaks' groundbreaking incel plot focusing on Eric Foster is also included.

Inside Soap's editor Gary Gillatt commented: "Every winner of an Inside Soap Award is the best of the best, as they need to triumph in a hugely talented and competitive field.

"But our Soap Superstar trophy is very much an 'icons only' affair – behind the red rope with the true VIPs of Soapland. We look forward to seeing who has truly reached out through the screen and made the biggest impression on viewers this year… And there's no more discerning viewer than the Inside Soap reader."
