Inter right-back Denzel Dumfries reportedly ‘dreams’ of moving to Manchester United, ahead of a potential summer transfer.

The Dutchman has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for nearly the entirety of Erik ten Hag’s reign and faces a crossroads this summer. The 28-year-old has just 12 months left on his Inter contract with a renewal seemingly not forthcoming.

The Italians could, therefore, look to sell this summer in order to recoup a fee for Dumfries. Right-back is one of the areas United are looking to strengthen this summer, if Ten Hag remains in the dugout. Dumfries could be available for as little as £26m.

United are willing to consider offers for right-backs Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer, the latter of whom only had his contract extensions triggered in January. United are not thought to have made an approach for Dumfries.

However, L’Interista says the player is longing for a move to United in what would be potentially his final chance for a Premier League transfer. He is likely to make the cut for the Netherlands squad for this summer’s European Championships, when clubs will be keeping a close eye on him.

Meanwhile, a number of Saudi clubs are said to be lining up bids for floundering United midfielder Casemiro.

The Brazilian, now 32, has struggled in recent outings and could be shown the door for Sir Jim Ratcliffe this summer, two years after penning a five-year deal at Old Trafford. The pivot enjoyed a positive debut season at United last year, being a contender for player of the season.

But performances have turned from disappointing to worrisome in recent weeks and INEOS is set to be ruthless this summer in a bid to cut down costs and manage finances in light of Premier League spending rules.

Only four players - Alejandro Garnacho, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Kobbie Mainoo - are not for sale with United set to listen to offers for all other squad members, including captain Bruno Fernandes.

The club are thought to be looking towards more long-term investments with Raphael Varane, 31, set to leave at the end of his contract this summer while Jonny Evans, 36, is also likely to do the same. The Telegraph says Saudi clubs will make an approach for Casemiro once the transfer window opens.

Former Real Madrid and United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo’s team Al-Nassr are being most strongly linked, with the player’s agents reported to have staged early talk with a number of Pro League outfits.
