Barcelona's interest in Liverpool's dream transfer Joshua Kimmich is reportedly cooling down in a boost to Arne Slot.

Bayern Munich's midfielder-turned-right-back is expected to depart the Bavarian club in 2025 at the latest. The 29-year-old is not expected to extend his contract beyond next year after becoming disenchanted with the project at the Bundesliga side.

Mundo Deportivo understands the Reds are one of four Premier League clubs who are interested in Kimmich. His credentials as both a midfielder and defender would make him a dream transfer for Liverpool who are pushing to be involved in the title race again next season.

Thankfully for Liverpool, Barca's interest is believed to be petering out with the Catalan club unwilling to spend the £34m needed to secure his transfer this summer. It is thought Xavi was the main catalyst behind the La Liga giant's interest but his departure has left the Camp Nou team out of the running.

Elsewhere, Leeds United's Archie Gray is reportedly set to conduct a medical with Brentford ahead of a proposed move to the Premier League club. BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella initially reported on Saturday that Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur held an interest in the Whites' midfielder.

The Yorkshire club wanted at least £30-35m for the talented midfielder who shone as Leeds reached the Championship Play-Off final only to lose to Southampton. However, The Athletic's David Ornstein has since reported that the Bees have booked a medical and are in pole position to get the move for the teenager over the line.

Should Gray pass the medical, Brentford are due to spend £35m on the midfielder.
