Isabel May, Archie Renaux & Emma Laird Join Gulfstream’s Romantic Dramedy ‘Falling’

EXCLUSIVE: Isabel May (1883), Archie Renaux (Alien: Romulus), Emma Laird (Mayor of Kingstown) and Alex Jarrett (Les Misérables) will round out the cast of Falling, Gulfstream Pictures’ K.J. Apa-led romantic dramedy from writer-directors Colin Krisel and James Krisel.

In the film, Jack (Apa), quick witted, charming, and avoidant, finally risks opening his heart when he starts dating Jillian (May); what he never expected was that his best friend Johnny (Renaux) would fall for her too. Details as to the roles to be played by Laird and Jarrett weren’t disclosed.

Gulfstream is producing and fully financing the feature, in association with Luber Roklin Entertainment. Mike Karz and Bill Bindley of Gulfstream Pictures, Lena Roklin and Matt Luber of Luber Roklin Entertainment and Piers Tempest of Tempo Productions are producing, with Apa, Tom Salentine, Dakota Rosen, Mary Vernieu, Carroll Middelthon and Jamie VanDyke executive producing. The film is currently shooting in London and Leeds, U.K.

In a new statement, a spokesperson for Gulfstream Pictures told Deadline, “We are very excited to work with this exceptional cast, including Archie, whom we’ve worked with twice before, and Isabel, Emma and Alex who bring an incredible energy to the project. We can’t wait to bring this amazing story to audiences around the world.”

Best known for starring in Taylor Sheridan’s 1883 for Paramount+ and for narrating his follow-up Yellowstone prequel 1923, May can currently be seen in the starry limited series Masters of the Air, from Apple and Amblin. Most recently, she wrapped the lead in sci-fi horror pic Menace for producers Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, and Image Nation Abu Dhabi.

Previously tapped by Gulfstream for roles in the films Upgraded and The Other Zoey, Renaux is also known for his work in titles like Morbius, Voyagers, and the Netflix fantasy series Shadow and Bone. Up next, he’ll be seen in the Fede Álvarez-helmed Alien: Romulus, which 20th is releasing on August 16.

Currently starring on Sheridan and Hugh Dillon’s Paramount+ crime thriller Mayor of Kingstown, Laird has also been seen in Kenneth Branagh’s A Haunting in Venice and Apple TV+’s The Crowded Room.

Past credits for Jarrett include the series The Witchfinder, Les Misérables, and Adult Material.
