Isis Has Banned The Burqa ‘For Security Reasons’

Isis militants in the Mosul area have banned women from wearing the burqa at security centres in the Northern Iraqi city.

The move follows a series of assassinations where Isis commanders were attacked by people wearing the veil, according to Iran Front Page.

Previously, Isis militants have rigidly enforced rules about women wearing burqas - with women beaten or killed by Isis ‘morality police’ for revealing their bodies or faces.

A local source in Nineveh, Iraq, said that the militants had announced the new law early in September.

Women are not allowed to wear the burqa or niqab while entering security or military systems.

Women elsewhere in the area are still required to wear traditional clothing, Iran Front Page reports.

News footage has shown women in areas liberated from Isis burning burqas after areas such as Manbij have been liberated.

Youngsters were filmed dancing round burning burqas after the areas were liberated from Isis forces.
